The APPEAL of Zachary & Nora Vick for a variance from cited violations of the Uniform Dwelling Code (UDC), Section 321.04(2)(a)(1) as referenced by Chapter 16.01(6)(b) of The City of Waukesha Municipal Code. The existing home was built in 1949; therefore, the owner is permitted to appeal the requirements as allowed in City of Waukesha Municipal Code Chapter 16.17. The appellant alleges the provisions of the code do not cover the width of the stairway leading to the basement. If the appeal is granted, the appeal would allow the stairway width to be less than the required thirty-six (36) inch minimum. This would vary from the requirements of the Uniform Dwelling Code (UDC).
