What this is
docketcity.com republishes public records from local governments and reads facts out of them automatically — what was bought, from whom, for how much, and when the contract ends. The index is free. A subscription unlocks the expiring-contract views, filtering and export.
Accuracy, and its limits
Every extracted fact is read by pattern matching from the title of an official record, and the source document is authoritative. Governments mistype their own dates, contradict themselves within a single title, and write amendments that restate figures already counted. Where a date was calculated from a stated term rather than quoted, the page says so. Every record links to the original.
Do not treat this site as the last word on anything that matters commercially. Check the source document before you bid, budget or advise on the strength of what you read here. The information is provided as-is, with no warranty, and no liability is accepted for decisions taken on it.
Using it
Read it, search it, link to it, quote it. There is a free JSON API at /api and an Atom feed on most views, which is a better route than scraping the pages. Please do not hammer the site hard enough to degrade it for others; the API is rate-limited to sixty requests a minute and that limit is the guide.
A subscription is for you or your organisation. Exports are yours to use internally and with clients. Republishing the expiring-contract dataset wholesale as a competing product is the one use not permitted.
Subscriptions
Billing is handled by Stripe. Cancel at any time from the link in your receipt; access runs to the end of the period already paid for. If the data turns out not to cover your market usefully, say so within thirty days and you will be refunded — that is a straightforward promise, not a process.
Copyright
The source documents belong to the governments that published them and most are not subject to copyright. The arrangement, extraction and presentation are this site's. Take the facts freely; do not lift the compiled dataset.
