A resolution expressing support for the passage of Proposition No. 1, submitted by Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma, at the April 28, 2026, Special Election, which reads as follows: PROPOSITION NO. 1 METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT OF TACOMA PARK AND RECREATION FACILITY IMPROVEMENT AND SAFETY UPGRADE GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS $155,000,000 The Board of Park Commissioners of the Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma adopted Resolution No. RR4-26 concerning safety and improvement bonds for neighborhood parks and recreation facilities. This proposition authorizes the District to improve, construct and/or expand parks, trails, community centers, playgrounds, water-play areas, restrooms, ballfields, sport courts, skate parks, and zoological facilities; expand access to parks and open spaces; acquire new park property; update deteriorating infrastructure; fund sustainability projects to protect Puget Sound; issue $155,000,000 of general obligation bonds maturing within a maximum term of 21 years; and levy annual excess property taxes to repay the bonds, as provided in Resolution RR4-26.
