Closed session pursuant to Virginia Code Sections 2.2-3711.A (.1) (.3) (.6) and (.8) to discuss appointments as listed on the agenda; the performance of the City Manager, Interim City Attorney, and Clerk of Council; and the prospective candidates for the City Attorney position; to discuss or consider the acquisition of real property for a public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held real property in the Coliseum Central area, where discussion in an open meeting would adversely affect the bargaining position or negotiating strategy of the city; to discuss or consider the investment of public funds where competition or bargaining is involved, where, if made public initially, the financial interest of the city would be adversely affected; and to consult with legal counsel employed or retained by the City regarding short term rentals which requires the provision of legal advice by such counsel.
