Public Hearing to Adopt Ordinances to Establish a Separate Personal Property Tax Rate and Vehicle License Fee on One Motor Vehicle Belonging to Active Volunteer Fire or Emergency Medical Services Members. To receive public comment on its intent to adopt an ordinance to amend County Code Chapter 15, Taxation. The two proposed ordinances would amend Article 8, Personal Property Tax, adding Section 15-808, Separate classification of motor vehicles owned or leased by volunteer fire or emergency medical services members and Article 14, County Vehicle Licenses, Section 15-1403(E). The proposed amendments would set the tax rate at $0.00 per $100 of assessed value and $0.00 motor vehicle license fee for one motor vehicle owned or leased solely or jointly by an active member of a volunteer fire department or volunteer emergency medical services agency. All proposed amendments would be enabled by Virginia Code §58.1-3506, to be effective on and after January 1, 2027.
