  7. Proposed 2026 Tax Rate of $0.426475/$100. This rate is composed of a Maintenance and Operations Rate of $0.241121/$100 and an Interest and Sinking Fund rate of $0.185354/$100. Hold a public hearing on the proposed tax rate.</li><li>Discuss and consider Ordinance 2023 on only one reading, levying and adopting, approving, and assessing pursuant to the certified appraisal roll for 2026 as submitted by the Aransas County Appraisal District an Ad Valorem Tax Rate for tax year 2026 of $0.426475 per $100 of taxable valuation of all taxable property within the corporate limits, consisting of a maintenance and operations rate of $0.241121 per $100 and an interest and sinking fund/debt service rate of $0.185354 per $100, to provide revenues for current maintenance and operating expenses and interest and sinking fund requirements; providing due and delinquent dates; providing penalties and interest; providing a lien on all real and personal property to secure payment of taxes due thereon; repealing all conflicting ordinance; containing a severability clause; and providing an effective date. This year’s proposed tax rate exceeds the no-new-revenue tax rate but does not exceed the Voter Approved Rate.
