2. Discussion with possible action with regard to the potential removal of the bike lanes on Santa Maria. Santa Maria is designated as a truck route and the underutilized bike lanes have raised safety concerns due to the potential hazards posed by the heavy truck traffic. The lanes were originally implemented using Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. As such, any potential removal or modification of the bike lanes should include a discussion of the implications on the CDBG funding and compliance with related regulations, and any other matters incident thereto.
