3. Recognizing Pete Mims a successful business owner, chef and TV personality who has been on four nationally recognized programs, including Emmy award winning show “A Taste of History” with Chef Walter Staib. Mr. Mims was also on “Bizarre Foods” with Andrew Zimmern which portrayed him cooking barbacoa in the ground and javalina in a Dutch kitchen. Mr. Mims was also featured in “The Tex Mex Republic” featured on Amazon Prime and was filmed in Laredo with Dr. Jerry Thompson, Regents and Piper Professor of History at Texas A&M International University. Mr. Mims also received a Telly Award for the episode “Revolutionary Cattle Drive” which was filmed on a ranch outside Laredo and is also available on Amazon Prime. Finally, Mr. Mims has a new show coming out in the summer of 2024 that was filmed in Port Aransas, TX where he will be cooking fresh seafood caught that day. We are proud of Mr. Mims’ accomplishments and look forward to future success and for continuing to make Laredo proud.
