The Laredo Police Department Explorer Post 468 traveled to Corpus Christi, TX, on Saturday, November 9, for the 8th Annual John Sartain Explorer Competition. LPD's Explorer Post 468 earned 3rd place in the Felony Stop scenario and 2nd place in the Traffic Accident scenario. These scenarios are designed to simulate real-life situations, helping to prepare the explorers for future careers in law enforcement. The explorers have been training and preparing for competitions for approximately six months. Sgt. Jonathan Castillo secured 1st place in the advisor’s division physical competition for the second year in a row. Members of Explorer Post 468 include Lauro Arce, Arturo Arce, Yani Rodriguez, Brianna Robles, and Yareli Mora. The LPD Explorers Post 468, are under the direction and guidance of Police Officers Melissa Salinas, Roberto Vedia, Dora Jalomo, Jose Ceballos and Mario Gonzalez.
