Authorizing the ratification of the City Manager to submit a grant application in the estimated amount of $11,806,363.26 to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Program. If awarded, the City of Laredo will utilize this funding to hire 38 new additional firefighters for a period of three years. There is no cost share or match requirement for the FY 2024-2025 SAFER Program. The grant will be accounted for in the Special Fire Grants Fund.
