Discussion and possible action of an award from the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office the Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration funds. This award in the amount of $597,880.00 is for continued funding of two traffic safety educators charged with conducting traffic safety programs statewide. Funding for OCSO to conduct at least six (6) eight-hour Teen Driving Courses with the Teen's Vehicle and waiver signed paired with a CLEET LEDT traffic safety instructor. The award will also include overtime for deputies working traffic safety, with an emphasis on speed and occupant protection in Oklahoma County to continue reduction of injuries and deaths on Oklahoma County roadways. The award is also provided for In-State travel for traffic safety educators, out of state travel for traffic safety educators to attend the national highway safety conference, operating costs for traffic safety educators and funds for the purchase of a 2026 Chevrolet truck and trailer . The award will be completed online certified by the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners. Major David Baisden will complete all programmatic reporting.
