Discussion and possible action to receive a presentation from ACOG (Association of Central Oklahoma Governments) by John Harrington - Director of the Water Resources Division, regarding the rapid development of unincorporated Oklahoma County in combination with the utilization of the Garber-Wellington Aquifer. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the long-term viability of the aquifer in producing sufficient quality groundwater, in combination with the oil and gas production that occurred decades ago. Improperly plugged wells from that time pose a significant threat to near-surface groundwater in the northwest areas of Oklahoma County. This discussion will assist elected officials and staff with the creation of the new County Master Plan that will begin in 2025. Requested by Erik Brandt, Principal Planner.
