- PROJECT UPDATES• Police StationThe Police Station project remains on schedule. This week, the building envelope is undergoing testing to verify the performance and integrity of the waterproofing system. In addition, the primary electrical service has been installed, marking another significant milestone in the project's progress.• Fire Station No. 1Fire Station No. 1 also remains on schedule, with delivery of the pre-engineered metal building currently anticipated on August 13. Staff has been working behind the scenes to coordinate the station alerting system and other critical building systems to support operational readiness upon project completion.

• Food Truck Park:
Bidding is underway for the project, with proposals due by August 17 and a potential award anticipated on September 14. The new park, planned for the vacant lot south of City Hall, will be called Coweta Commons, and its food truck venue will be named The Feedlot.• 121st Street Bridge Project: We are continuing to coordinate with ONG on the relocation of a natural gas line needed to accommodate the widening of the existing structure. However, one of the property owners with whom we had previously negotiated the necessary right-of-way has requested additional terms that the City is unable to accommodate at this time. A final offer is being presented to the property owner. The City Council may take action on a request to pursue condemnation proceedings if the offer is not accepted by August 10, 2026. • Wildflower GrantThe City has been awarded a grant to establish a wildflower planting area west of SH-51. Assistant Public Works Director Jon Bates played a key role in coordinating with Color Oklahoma to identify the project sites and develop the program parameters. Special thanks also to Vice Mayor Daniel Beatie for bringing this grant opportunity to my attention and helping make this project possible.• Shop CowetaThe City is currently preparing for the 2026 Shop Coweta Program, which will once again feature paper tickets as part of the promotion. Additional details will be announced in the coming weeks as we work to encourage residents to shop local and support Coweta’s businesses and economic growth.
