- Consider the adoption of a proposed one (1) year moratorium on the acceptance, processing, and approval of applications for data storage facilities within the City of Lincolnton, North Carolina. The purpose of the proposed moratorium is to allow the City to analyze and study the unique development, infrastructure, and environmental impacts of data centers and prepare and consider appropriate regulatory and policy changes to address those impacts.
- CZ-7-2026 – Request from Piedmont Companies to amend a site plan to include a vacant lot for a total of 7.324 acres in the Planned Residential District (PRD) to allow for a planned residential multifamily development consisting of 68 individually parceled units. The subject properties are located at 2350 and 1912 North Aspen Street (Parcel ID 21600, 53769, and 21599) - Deferred to August 18, 2026, Planning Board and September 3, 2026, City Council meetings.
- Consider a resolution/ordinance to relinquish the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) planning, zoning, and development regulation authority over the area described below: The Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) of Lincolnton, NC, is a designated area extending up to one mile beyond the city limits where the municipal government enforces its zoning, subdivision, and land-use regulations, but it is county land. If the relinquishment is approved, zoning and land-use authority will revert to Lincoln County.
