10. Authorization for purchase of 16 service weapons described as Semi-Automatic Pistols from The Southern Connection on behalf of the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office pursuant to Miss. Code Ann. Section 31-7-13(m)(viii). The justification for the declaration under Miss. Code Ann. Section 31-7-13(m)(viii) is that the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office issues Glock-manufactured service weapons to deputies/investigators/personnel, with a significant inventory of weapons, accessories and duty gear across the department. It is required that purchases of new weapons be interchangeable with existing magazines, holsters, duty gear, spare parts, and armorer/instructor certifications that are all built around a brand-specific platform. The vendor named herein is the only certified dealer/distributor offering brand-specific service weapons under the Glock Blue Label Agency designation in Mississippi
