The Board discussed the following items: a) Angela Thrash, Chancery Clerk, reported on new legislation affecting PERS and the Revised Return-to-Work Provisions adopted following the 2026 Legislative Session. b) Tim Holleman, Legal Counsel, provided an update on the Petrini lawsuit. c) Supervisor Powers inquired about the deadline for submitting projects through the 2028 Tidelands Grant Program. She also asked about appointments to the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee. The Board discussed having each supervisor appoint two members and one alternate. Appointments will be made at a later date. d) Supervisor Barrett thanked all volunteers, charitable organizations, and county employees for their assistance during Tropical Storm Arthur. e) Bobby Trosclair reported on his meeting with the CTA Director. The Board requested that Mr. Reso appear at the July 6, 2026 meeting to discuss budget matters. Mr. Trosclair also recommended that the Comptroller establish a separate account to track all storm-related expenditures.
