Dr. Jennifer Caldwell, Committee Member, and Magdalena Holland provided an update to the Board on the Blue Ribbon Committee. They reported on the following items: a) At Memorial Hospital, weekly meetings are being held with the head of social services and nurse managers of the NICU and Well-Baby units. A safety plan involving CPS is currently in development. Coordination with Harrison County Youth Court continues, with a direct contract still in progress. b) Meetings with the CPS Commissioner have been scheduled but subsequently canceled; efforts to finalize scheduling are ongoing. c) Ongoing meetings are being conducted with local law enforcement and Harrison County School District. d) Discussions have taken place with state legislators regarding proposed amendments to current legislation. e) The Mississippi Youth Court Information Delivery System (MYCIDS) was reviewed and discussed. f) The committee discussed the development of a “Baby DJ Alert” system and received an update on a recent human trafficking case.
