Sponsor: Councilmember Melissa Robinson Authorizing the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 2 to the 2026-2027 Transit Services Agreement with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority to increase the contract in the amount of $8,328,910.00 to maintain transit service levels, for a total contract amount not to exceed $94,607,886.00; waiving the limitations established by the Fund Balance and Reserve Policy in Section 2-1954 of the Code of Ordinances; reducing previously appropriated funds in the Public Mass Transportation Fund in the amount of $6,910,205.00; appropriating $8,145,622.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Public Mass Transportation Fund to the Kansas City Area Transport Authority (“KCATA”); appropriating $6,910,205.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Street Maintenance Fund; appropriating $183,288.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the KCATA Sales Tax Fund; designating requisitioning authority; further directing the City Manager to include an agreement to maintain service delivery and routes in Amendment No. 2 to the 2026-2027 Transit Services Agreement; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.
