Sponsor: Director of Neighborhood Services Department Accepting a $5,000,000.00 grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) to fund the Kansas City Organic Waste Improvement Project from March 1, 2026, through February 28, 2029; authorizing an agreement with the EPA to administer such grant; estimating and appropriating $5,000,000.00 in the General Grants Fund; authorizing cooperative agreements with Kanbe’s Markets ($1,500,000), Pete’s Garden ($400,000), Urban Produce Push ($400,000), KC Can Compost ($800,000), Bridging the Gap ($200,000), Missouri Organic Recycling ($800,000) and Compost Collective KC ($400,000) to implement such grant; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date. Neighborhood Committee recommends “Advance and Do Pass.”
