1. Council action is requested for the 2026-27 utility property insurance renewal through Lockton Companies with an estimated annual premium and engineering fees of $844,683. Approved
2. Council action is requested to expend $650,454.77 in purchase orders for fiscal year 2026-2027 to Logicalis for the renewal of Microsoft Office Licensing. Approved
3. Council action is requested for the 2026-27 non-utility Property Insurance renewal with Midwest Public Risk, which includes the Auto Physical Damage and Mobile Equipment programs, for an annual premium of $925,109, and authorizing change orders up to 10% of the authorized amount. Approved
4. Council action is requested to authorize the City Manager to exercise the first one-year renewal of the agreement between the City of Independence, Missouri, and the Independence Convention and Visitors Bureau, d/b/a Visit Independence. Approved
5. Council action is requested to authorize a contract with WHC SAF, LLC for the purpose of providing on-demand micro-transit services for the period of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, in the amount of $830,425, and authorizing change orders of up to ten percent (10%) of the authorized amount. Approved
6. 26-738 A resolution authorizing an agreement with the Water Pollution Control Collective Bargaining Unit for the term of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029. Approved Res. No. 7233
7. Pursuant to City Charter Sec. 7.4, the City Council is hereby notified that the Jackson County Election Board has certified sufficient signatures to cause a recall election of District 1 Councilmember John Perkins.The final certification date for the August 4 election was May 26; therefore, the Jackson County Election Board has agreed to conduct the special recall election on Tuesday, September 1. As such, an ordinance to call a special election on Tuesday, September 1, will be added to the July 6, 2026, City Council meeting agenda for Council action. The Election Board estimates the cost to the City for the special election will be $164,400, which will require a budget amendment.
