1. Approve and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk on behalf of the City of Burton to execute a construction contract with Zito Construction, 8033 Fenton Road Grand Blanc, MI 48439, for the paving of Sitka St, in amount of $359,893.00.
2. <span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 14px;" data-pasted="true">Approve and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a contract with Orchard, Hiltz & McCliment, Inc. (OHM), 34000 Plymouth Rd. Livonia, MI 48150, for Professional Engineering of the safety improvements at the intersection of Belsay and Potter Rd, at an amount not to exceed $95,795.00.
3. Approve and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an employment agreement with Jody Grant for the position of Deputy Police Chief, effective September 10, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
4. Approve and authorize the payment of Attorney Billing (Odette), invoices 1127 and 1128, 8/13/26 to 9/2/26, in the amount of $5,244.75.
5. Authorize the City Clerk to set the Second Public Hearing for Monday, September 21, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, or any later date of City Council choice; (a minimum of ten (10) days is required between this Council meeting and the proposed public hearing date), and instruct the Clerk's Office, to publish and mail notices to hear and consider any favorable comments and/or objections which may be submitted by any interested person with respect to the making of the improvements and to the assessing of the cost of the improvements to the lands in the aforesaid special assessment district Sitka Street Project #26-009-P.
6. Approve and authorize the mayor's re-appointment of Erica Edgington, 2132 Crestline Drive, Burton, MI., 48509, to the Planning Commission, term to expire September 2029.
7. Approve and authorize the budget amendment within the Major Streets Fund as follows: Increase 202-451-802.639 Safety Project Belsay & Potter by $100,000 and Decrease Fund Balance by $100,000.
