DISTRICT 6 COUNTY COUNCIL VACANCY - INFORMATIONAL BRIEFING The District 6 County Council office is vacant, effective January 5, 2026, due to the resignation of the incumbent. Pursuant to County Code Section 2-104(j), “When there is a vacancy in the office of a Council Member that occurs during the last year of a term, a majority of the remaining members of the Council shall appoint a qualified person to fill the vacancy within thirty (30) calendar days.” QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Individuals must be a resident of Prince George's County and a have been a qualified voter of their respective Council district for at least one year. The County Council of Prince George's County, Maryland, will hold the following informational briefing for the public to hear from those under consideration by the Council.
