Green Bowie Spring EventsThroughout April, the Green Team and Green Bowie have lots of events planned to celebrate Earth Month:The annual Stream Clean Up will take place on Saturday, April 5, from 9am - noon. The kickoff event is behind the Giant on Rt. 450. Tiffany Wright is the contact for this event. SSL hour opportunity with multiple locations.Friday, April 11, is the Food Truck Frenzy where free energy kits will be distributed as well as a light bulb exchange; bring old CFLs in exchange for ONE FREE LED (courtesy of Phillips). The food truck event will take place at City Hall.Saturday, April 12, is the annual Bowie Green Expo hosted by the Bowie Lions Club. New this year, the event will be at the Senior Center, and it is from Noon - 4 p.m. The awarding of the Green Citizen Award will take place at noon. <strong>This year's Green Citizen Award goes to Ms. Sue Livera- previous Chair of the Green Team, chair of the green schools subgroup, avid volunteer at the food pantry, member of the Bowie-Crofton Garden Club, previous school guidance counselor, and endearingly known as "the bee lady". Congratulations to Sue, who is so appreciated here in Bowie.Saturday, April 26, will be an afternoon of fun with the Spring Fling at the Belair Mansion. Celebrate Earth Day and welcome Spring while embracing wellness and fun for all ages! Join us for kids crafts and activities such as tie-dye (bring an old shirt to reuse if possible), bird house making, and more. Move your body with Zumba, yoga, and tai chi, and end the night with a screening of the movie "Migration" (PG). There will be a snow cone truck during the day and popcorn during the movie, but we encourage folks to bring snacks, reusable water bottles, and a blanket and chair for the movie. Saturday, April 26, Annual Arbor Day Celebration at Acorn Hill Park 10 am.
