Recommending FIRST READING of Bill 147, CD1 (2025), to simplify the process for adopting real property tax rates and tiers, by: 1) deleting the requirement to reconvene the meeting in three weeks after public notice; 2) clarifying public-notice requirements; and 3) requiring the Council adopt rates and tiers by June 20, or the Mayor’s proposed rates and tiers transmitted with the annual budget will take effect.
