Consider recommendations regarding Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Administration Building Roof Rehabilitation and Replacement Project-Award Construction Contract, Second District, as follows: a) Award, approve, and authorize the Chair to execute the construction contract in the base amount of $487,400.00 to the lowest responsible bidder, Derricks’ Roofing, Inc., subject to the provisions of the documents and certifications as outlined in the specifications applicable to the project located at 4434 Calle Real, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, and as required by California Law; b) Authorize the Director of General Services to approve change orders for the Construction Contract in an aggregate amount not to exceed $36,870.00 as authorized under California Public Contract Code Section 20142; and c) Determine that the proposed actions are exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under Sections 15301, subdivision (a) of the CEQA Guidelines, because the project is a minor alteration to a public structure involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use, and direct staff to file Notice of Exemption on that basis.
