Subject: DVP Grant From The Bureau Of Justice Assistance From: Department Of Violence Provention Recommendation: Adopt A Resolution (1) Accepting And Appropriating A Grant From The Bureau Of Justice Assistance’s Community-Based Violence Intervention And Prevention Initiative In An Amount Not To Exceed Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000) For The Period Of October 1, 2024, To September 30, 2027; And (2) Adding Three (3) Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Case Manager I Positions In The Department Of Violence Prevention Through September 30, 2027, In An Amount Not To Exceed One Million Two Hundred Seventy-Nine Thousand Two Hundred Seven Dollars ($1,279,207); And (3) Authorizing The City Administrator To Oversee The Distribution Of Up To Four Hundred Sixty-Five Thousand Dollars ($465,000) In Grant Funds As Stipends And Incentives To Support Residents In Meeting Basic Needs And Reducing Risk For Violence; And (4) Authorizing The City Administrator To Adjust The Allocated Funding For The Same Purposes Within The Limits Of The Grant Award
