SUBJECT: Approval to Waive the Competitive Bidding Process and Purchase a Lenco BearCat G3 Armored Vehicle Utilizing a Government Procurement Program REPORT IN BRIEF Considers waiving the competitive bidding process and purchasing a Lenco BearCat G3 vehicle from Lenco Industries Inc., (Lenco) using the Houston-Galveston Area Council Government (H-GAC)-Ambulances, EMS, and Other Special Service Vehicles Purchasing Program. RECOMMENDATION City Council - Adopt a motion: A. Waiving the competitive bid requirements, in conformance with Section 3.04.210 of the Merced Municipal Code for piggybacking; and, B. Authorizing the purchase of one (1) Lenco BearCat G3 from Lenco, with a total purchase price of $430,332.72, through the H-GAC-Ambulances, EMS, and Other Special Service Vehicles Purchasing Program.
