SUBJECT: Approval of an Instructional Services Agreement Amendment with the Merced Community College District to Provide Credit Fire Class for Students Aspiring a Future or Advancement in the Fire Professions REPORT IN BRIEF Considers approving an Instructional Services Agreement amendment with the Merced Community College District to provide credit fire classes for students aspiring a future or advancement in the fire professions. The current agreement does not allow college credit for training hours documented by fire personnel on a daily basis. This agreement would allow fire personnel to enroll in Fire Technology-24 and receive additional credit along with those classes listed in exhibit A. RECOMMENDATION City Council - Adopt a motion: A. Approving an Instructional Services Agreement with the Merced Community College District to provide credit fire classes for students aspiring a future or advancement in the fire professions; and, B. Authorizing the Finance Officer to make the necessary budget adjustments; and, C. Authorizing the City Manager to execute the necessary documents.
