Public Defender recommending the Board: 1) Approve and authorize the Public Defender to sign the Funding-In Agreement with the State Bar of California, which provides funding to the County through the Community Assistance, Recovery, and Empowerment (CARE) Court program, in the amount of $80,000, for the service period of July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028, and the first annual funding period of July 1, 2025, through January 1, 2027, contingent upon approval by County Counsel; and 2) Delegate authority to the Public Defender to execute future amendments related to this agreement that do not increase Net County Cost, contingent upon County Counsel and Risk Management approval, as applicable, and subsequent administrative documents or required fiscal or programmatic reports.
