Mike Roberts, from Save the Graves, presented an overview of the organizations efforts to place headstones and unmarked graves in Placerville Union Cemetery. Roberts reported that his team spent over 1,250 hours last year cleaning, straightening, and repairing multiple headstones in the cemetery. Roberts reported that, over the past year, his team faced both challenges and successes while working with a mini-grant from the Veterans Affairs Transient Occupancy Tax (VA TOT). He also shared plans to apply for additional funding in the future to continue their work.
