Hollis, Jr., Manager, 499 Linden Managers, LLC, to consider Project 23-2254-DP/CUP/CDP/ARB (application filed September 13, 2023) for approval of a Development Plan, a Coastal Development Permit, and a Conditional Use Permit; and to certify the Environmental Impact Report (State Clearinghouse No. 2025051396) pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines. The Project would permit a new 36-room hotel with a manager’s unit, café, visitor center, rooftop bar/lounge/event space, pool, and parking at 499 Linden Avenue (City Parking Lot #3), and a new public parking lot with public restrooms and coastal trail improvements on the vacant City-owned property at 399 Linden Avenue (Parking Lot #4). Parking Lot #4 would have inbound-only access from Linden Avenue and outbound-only access through Elm Avenue to Dorrance Way. The proposed Final EIR and all documents referenced therein may be reviewed on the project website at https://carpinteriaca.gov/city-hall/community-development/linden-inn-project/. A hardcopy of the EIR without appendices is available for review at City Hall, 5775 Carpinteria Avenue, Carpinteria, or at the Carpinteria Public Library, 5141 Carpinteria Avenue, Carpinteria. On September 21, 2026, the Planning Commission conducted and closed the public hearing on this item after receiving oral and written public comments. Following closure of the public hearing, the Commission unanimously voted to continue its deliberations and consideration of possible action to the Commission’s next regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30pm on October 5,.
