ACCEPTANCE OF THE 2015 ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT AWARD RECOMMENDATION: Ratify the acceptance of the 2015 Assistance to Firefighters grant award in the amount of $32,728, authorize the City Manager to approve an expenditure of $3,272 from the grant match fund required for the grant match, approve an FY17 budget transfer for the grant award and execute all documents related to grant management. PURPOSE: The purpose of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG) is to enhance the safety of the public and firefighters with respect to fire and fire-related hazards by providing direct financial assistance to eligible fire departments, non-affiliated EMS organizations and State Fire Training Academies for critically needed resources to equip and train emergency personnel to recognized standards, enhance operational efficiencies, foster interoperability, and support community resilience.
