DESIGNATE AN ACTING MAYOR RECOMMENDATION: Authorize a Councilmember to serve as Acting Mayor in the absence of the Mayor and the Vice Mayor from May 28, 2016 through May 30, 2016. PURPOSE: Both the Mayor and Vice Mayor will be out of state at the same time from May 28, 2016 through May 30, 2016. Goodyear City Code, Section 2-2-3 states ”In the absence or disability of both the Mayor and Vice Mayor, the Council may designate another of its members to serve as Acting Mayor who shall have all the powers, duties and responsibilities of the Mayor during such absence or disability”.
