ADOPTION OF THE EL RIO DESIGN GUIDELINES AND PLANNING STANDARDS RECOMMENDATION: ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 16-1761 ADOPTING THE EL RIO DESIGN GUIDELINES AND PLANNING STANDARDS RELATING TO THE LAND MANAGEMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EL RIO WATERCOURSE MASTER PLAN. PURPOSE: The design guidelines were prepared pursuant to an Intergovernmental Agreement between the cities of Avondale, Buckeye and Goodyear, Maricopa County Planning and Development, and the Flood Control District of Maricopa County, to provide a consistent set of goals and policies for development within the Gila River corridor across jurisdictional boundaries. A resolution adopting these guidelines will be considered by the governing bodies for each of the participating local jurisdictions in the upcoming months. (Joe Schmitz, Long Range Planner)
