PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A CDBG GRANT APPLICATION FOR FY2016-2017 RECOMMENDATION: 1. Conduct a public hearing to consider the submittal of one Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application to the Maricopa County Human Services Department for the purpose of implementing the projects outlined in the Consolidated Plan for FY2016-2017. a. ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 15-1726 AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF ONE APPLICATION FOR FY 2016-2017 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM FUNDS TO THE MARICOPA COUNTY HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING TO SAID APPLICATION. PURPOSE: A public hearing is required prior to the submittal of CDBG applications to Maricopa County. The City is proposing to submit one CDBG grant application for the FY2016-2017 funding cycle. The grant application is for up to $380,000 to begin phase four of the water line replacement project in Historic Goodyear. The City Council may act on the proposed resolution authorizing the submittal of this grant application upon completion of the public hearing.
