ACCEPTANCE OF 2015 CBRNE GRANT AWARD FROM ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION: Accept the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive (CBRNE) Response Team Sustainment/Enhancement Grant of $50,000 awarded by the Arizona Department of Homeland Security to the Goodyear Fire Department, and authorize the City Manager or designee to execute any and all documents necessary for the award and administration of the grant. PURPOSE: The Goodyear Fire Department’s Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) CBRNE Response Team Sustainment Grant award will provide funding for training additional hazardous materials technicians, purchasing software upgrades for the Hazmat Team, and funding for attending the National Homeland Security Conference 2016. The UASI CBRNE Response Team will continue to provide response to both local and regional hazardous materials incidents and statewide events while maintaining interoperability communication capabilities through the sustainment grant award. The grant award is for $50,000. Funds are given on a reimbursable basis. The grant period is October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016. (Tom Cole, Deputy Fire Chief)
