ACCEPTANCE OF WIFA GRANT 82107-16 AWARDED TO THE CITY OF GOODYEAR RECOMMENDATION: Approve the acceptance of a Water Infrastructure Finance Authority (WIFA) Drinking Water (non-matching) Grant for Planning and Design Technical Assistance in the amount of $19,760 and grant the City Manager or designee the authority to sign the agreement. PURPOSE: This item has been brought before Council to present the award of the grant, its purpose, and the City’s obligation associated with acceptance. The grant has been awarded as a part of WIFA’s Drinking Water Planning and Design Technical Assistance Program to fund a water blending analysis task which is a part of the Brine Wetlands Demonstration Project Design Concept Report (DCR) to be completed in November 2016. The grant deliverable will be the blending analysis report, which will be prepared by the firm contracted to complete the DCR, under the oversight and coordination of City staff. The City will be awarded the funding ($19,760) for the task after the report is submitted to and approved by WIFA. (Gretchen Erwin, Water Resources Planning Advisor)
