ACCEPT 2013 ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY SECURITY GRANT FUNDS FOR CBRNE RESPONSE UNIT RECOMMENDATION: Accept 2013 Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDoHS) grant for $8,700 to fund two new gas meters and a utility trailer for the CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive) response unit. PURPOSE: The City of Goodyear has deployed a CBRNE response unit using Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDoHS) Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) funding since 2007. Reallocated funds have been awarded for the Goodyear program to enhance service through improved search, rescue, and hazard detection capabilities by purchasing two new gas meters and a utility trailer.
