CONTINUING THE DESIGNATION OF THE CITY OF GOODYEAR REDEVELOPMENT AREA RECOMMENDATION: ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 14-1686 MAKING A FINDING OF SUBSTANTIAL ACTION PURSUANT TO A.R.S. § 36-1474(C) AND CONTINUING THE DESIGNATION OF THE CITY OF GOODYEAR’S REDEVELOPMENT AREA AND COMMITMENT TO THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN AS IT HAS BEEN AMENDED. PURPOSE: The designation of a Redevelopment Area provides a City with tools to make improvements in areas that are in need of redevelopment. The City of Goodyear Redevelopment Area was established by City Council on December 13, 2004. A Redevelopment Area expires after 10 years unless substantial action has taken place to advance the development objectives set forth in the Redevelopment Plan. The attached resolution documents the substantial action that has taken place since adoption of the Redevelopment Area in 2004 in order to continue the designation of the City of Goodyear Redevelopment Area.
