USE PERMIT FOR TACO BELL DRIVE-THROUGH RESTAURANT RECOMMENDATION: 1. Conduct a public hearing to consider a request for a use permit for a convenience use (Taco Bell drive-through restaurant) at 251 North Litchfield Road. a. Open public hearing b. Staff presentation c. Receive public comments d. Close public hearing 2. Recommend approval of a request for a use permit for a convenience use (Taco Bell drive-through restaurant) at 251 North Litchfield Road located at the southeast corner of Van Buren Street and Litchfield Road, subject to stipulations. PURPOSE: This use permit application for a convenience use (drive-through restaurant) is to facilitate the redevelopment of a Taco Bell restaurant located at 251 North Litchfield Road (southeast corner of Litchfield Road and Van Buren Street). The existing drive-through restaurant will be demolished and a building incorporating a new image concept will be constructed on the property. Staff has reviewed the request and finds that it meets the conditions and required findings for a use permit and satisfies the additional evaluation criteria required for convenience uses. The Planning and Zoning Commission considered this item at its regular meeting of May 21, 2014 and unanimously voted (5-0) to forward a recommendation of approval to the City Council.
