YOUTH COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS RECOMMENDATION: 1. The Youth Commission will present their year in review PowerPoint to Council. 2. Recognize Wendy Pappenfus, Michelle Coyle, Rachel Wynia and Bliss Hickman for their contributions to the City of Goodyear during their time on the Youth Commission. 3. Appoint Joshua Heinz, Raquel Joyner, Courtney Ratkus, Abigail Ellis, Kayleigh Fugal members of the Youth Commission to serve two-year terms, expiring May 31, 2016. 4. Reappoint Connor Belanger, Madison Groves, Carson Ferrall, and Nick Acciardo members of the Youth Commission to serve two-year terms, expiring on May 31, 2016. 5. City Clerk will administer the Oath of Office to the new Youth Commission members. PURPOSE: On May 31, 2014, the 2013-2014 Youth Commission term came to a close. To keep the City Council apprised of their activities over the year, the Youth Commission will provide a “year in review” presentation. The end of the term created eight vacancies on the Commission. Applications were solicited and the Council Subcommittee for Boards, Commissions and Committees met to review submissions, interview applicants and make a recommendation for appointment of Commission members. The Subcommittee is recommending the appointment of Joshua Heinz, Raquel Joyner, Courtney Ratkus, Abigail Ellis and Kayleigh Fugal and the reappointment of Connor Belanger, Madison Groves, Carson Ferrall, and Nick Acciardo as members of the Youth Commission to serve two-year terms ending May 31, 2016.
