ADOPT NOTICES OF INTENTION TO INCREASE UTILITY RATES AND PRETREATMENT FEES AND SET JUNE 23, 2014 AND JULY 7, 2014 AS PUBLIC HEARING DATES RECOMMENDATION: 1. Adopt a Notice of Intention to increase utility rates. 2. Adopt a Notice of Intention to increase and implement new utility pretreatment fees. 3. Set June 23, 2014 as the date for a public hearing on the adoption of the proposed utility rates. 4. Set July 7, 2014 as the date for a public hearing on the adoption of the proposed pretreatment fees. PURPOSE: Adopt the Notices of Intention to increase the City’s utility rates and increase and implement new utility pretreatment fees. The proposed utility rate changes will partially offset forecasted operating cost increases in the upcoming fiscal year (FY) 2014-15. The proposed increased and new utility pretreatment fees will provide funding for the ADEQ-required program outlined in Chapter 12A of the Goodyear City Code. (Larry Lange, Finance Director)
