IGA FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN EDUCATION CAMPAIGN ON MUNICIPAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TOOLS WITH THE CITY OF SURPRISE RECOMMENDATION: ADOPT RESOLUTION 14-1596 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF SURPRISE FOR COST SHARING, AND THE HIRING OF A CONSULTANT FOR DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN EDUCATIONAL CAMPAIGN ON THE NEED FOR AND BENEFIT OF NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TOOLS. PURPOSE: The City of Goodyear wishes to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement for the cost sharing, and the hiring of a consultant for development and implementation of an educational campaign necessary to educate and inform cities, public associations, private groups, opinion leaders and elected officials on the need for and benefit of new economic development tools critical to rebuilding Arizona’s economy at the municipal level, (the Project). The key deliverable of the campaign will be to develop a strong base of political support for successful passage of future legislation of the Project.
