APPOINTMENT TO THE GOODYEAR CITIZEN CORPS COUNCIL RECOMMENDATION: 1. Appoint Veda Elbe to the Goodyear Citizen Corps Council to represent the Member at Large position for a two-year term expiring January 13, 2016. 2. City Clerk will administer the Oath of Loyalty. PURPOSE: The Goodyear Citizen Corps Council (GCCC) was created in March 2010 to foster stronger local interest in emergency preparedness and community volunteerism. The Council is composed of members from four volunteer groups: Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS), Fire Corps, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and Neighborhood Watch, as well as members from the faith community, the education community, and local businesses. A subcommittee of the City Council, composed of Councilmembers Joanne Osborne, Wally Campbell and Sharolyn Hohman, met on December 16, 2013 and is recommending that Veda Elbe be appointed to the Goodyear Citizen Corps Council for a two-year term.
