COMPREHENSIVE SIGN PACKAGE AMENDMENT - PALM VALLEY MEDICAL CAMPUS RECOMMENDATION: Planning and Zoning Commission recommend to City Council approval of an amendment to the Comprehensive Sign Package for the Palm Valley Medical Campus, to allow for the addition of a hospital identification icon sign to the south elevation of the West Valley Hospital located at 13677 West McDowell Road within the Palm Valley Planned Area Development (PAD) District, as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission, subject to stipulations. PURPOSE: The proposed amendment to the Comprehensive Sign Package for the West Valley Medical Campus will provide greater identification of the hospital, especially for motorists traveling on Interstate 10, which should make the presence of the hospital better known and easier to find. As proposed, the additional sign is at a location that should not adversely affect adjacent properties.
