EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER FUNDING RECOMMENDATION: 1. ADOPT RESOLUTION 13-1581 RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF THE APPLICATION FOR ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (AZDOHS) GRANT BY THE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DIVISION OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE AWARD AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE GRANT. 2. Authorize a budget transfer of $75,000 to equip the City’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) with desks, chairs, monitors, HAM operator equipment and other items not covered by the 2013 Department of Homeland Security grant. PURPOSE: Following Council’s authorization for constructing the new 911 Communications Center, there were discussions with both police and fire for collaborated efforts to allow space for the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in the new building, until such time that the growth was realized and the 911 Communications Center would require the entire space.
