APPLICATION FOR ARIZONA HOMELAND SECURITY RESPONSE TEAM SUSTAINMENT/ ENHANCEMENT GRANT (CBRNE) RECOMMENDATION: ADOPT RESOLUTION 13-1577 RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF THE APPLICATION FOR ARIZONA HOMELAND SECURITY CBRNE RESPONSE TEAM SUSTAINMENT GRANT BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE AWARD AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE GRANT. PURPOSE: The Goodyear Fire Department’s Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive (CBRNE) Response Team Sustainment Grant award will provide funding for training additional hazardous materials technicians for the Goodyear Fire Department. The UASI CBRNE Response Team will continue to provide response to both local and regional hazardous materials incidents and statewide events while maintaining interoperability communication capabilities through the sustainment grant award. The grant award is for $54,000. Funds are disbursed on a reimbursable basis. The grant period is October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2014. (Othell Newbill, Emergency Manager)
