APPROVE CHANGES TO CITIZEN COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT PROCESS RECOMMENDATION: Approve a change to Section 5, Item D to the Citizen Committee Appointment Process by adding: If a member serves on the Public Improvement Corporation (PIC) and the Industrial Development Authority (IDA), or the Public Safety Retirement Board (PSRB) for Police and Fire, they can serve on one additional committee, commission or board. PURPOSE: Section 5, Item D of the Citizen Committee Appointment Process, states that “No individual may serve as a voting member on more than two boards, commissions and committees at one time.” Due to the infrequency of meetings, the PIC and IDA Boards meet at the same time and it made sense to have the same committee members on both committees. This is the same scenario with the PSRB for Police and Fire. Currently, committee members serving on the PIC and IDA Boards, and the PSRB for Police and Fire can only serve on those two committees. Staff recommends changing the rule for the PIC and IDA Boards, as well as the PSRB Boards to allow members to serve on one additional committee. (Maureen Scott, City Clerk)
