AUTHORIZE A JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT AGREEMENT RECOMMENDATION: 1.ADOPT RESOLUTION #13-1562 AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT #13-2614 WITH MARICOPA COUNTY AND VARIOUS CITIES AND TOWNS OF THIS COUNTY IN ORDER FOR THE CITY OF GOODYEAR TO RECEIVE $7,948 IN GRANT FUNDS FROM THE EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THIS APPLICATION. 2. Approve a budget transfer of $7,948 from the grant contingency account to the Police Supplies account #713-2110-421-61-26. PURPOSE: Maricopa County administers the federal funds received from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program which provides states and units of local governments with critical funding necessary to support a range of program areas in law enforcement. The JAG program is intentionally broad to allow local jurisdictions to receive support based on criminal control and prevention in their communities. The funds from this grant will be used to satisfy an audit recommendation at the Police Department Property and Evidence facility.(Christine McMurdy, Grants Coordinator)
