RECOMMENDATION: Accept the results of the Southwest Valley Local Transit System Study as prepared by the Maricopa Association of Governments. PURPOSE: The Southwest Valley Local Transit System Study is an analysis of potential future transit services in the southwest valley that can be provided both locally and regionally. The study suggests that transit use in the southwest valley may be productive if it is provided at a reasonable level of service. The information in the study identifies future transit-supportive areas of the southwest valley, recommends transit service types and identifies a route system that corresponds to future land use and projected population levels.
